What is the Masterson method? It is a method of equine bodywork that consists of learning to recognize and use the horse's responses to contact to find and release accumulated tension in key parts of the horse's body that are restricting its movements and/or limiting its performance.
Unlike other traditional methods, it allows the horse to take an active part in the process of releasing tension. It is something that is done with the horse, rather than to the horse. Allowing the horse to participate and interact is what is most fascinating about this method.
When performing massages or bodywork on horses, good results can only be achieved if the horse is relaxed and cooperates. To ensure that the horse is relaxed and can release tension, it is important to know how to apply the correct type of pressure gently and slowly so that the animal does not feel that it must protect itself from said pressure by resisting. When tension is released, an improvement in the horse's mobility, comfort, attitude, and performance can be seen.
As a certified professional, in all the time that I have been practicing this method, the signs of relaxation that horses give and how they appreciate being taken into account never cease to amaze me. If you want to provide your horse with an experience that helps him to release tensions and improve his health and performance, do not hesitate to contact me and ask me for an appointment for your horse.
